Manyata Quality Maternal Care Initiative Featured At World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics

One of India’s most promising quality maternal care initiatives was featured at the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics’ triennial World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Rio de Janeiro from October 14 to October 19. The Manyata for Mothers program improves the quality of maternity care in private facilities in India, a country in which nearly half of all women go to the private sector to receive maternity care. The Manyata for Mothers program and its partners,  MSD for Mothers, the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and Jhpiego, were featured in a special side event on the third day of the World Congress.

During the event, panelists shared lessons learned from the Manyata program and discussed ways to translate those lessons to other contexts to improve maternal healthcare and strengthen national health systems. ACCESS Health is a proud partner of the Manyata program and supports Weber Shandwick in evidence curation and advocacy for the initiative. Read more about the Manyata program here.
