Inaugural China International Healthcare and Finance Innovation Summit Takes Place

The first China International Healthcare and Finance Innovation Summit was held at the School of Management of Fudan University in Shanghai on October 21, 2017. Forty guest speakers, nineteen media groups, and more than four hundred guests attended the summit. The summit was dedicated to the megatrends in healthcare, finance, and technology and helped promote dialogue among industry, academia, research, and policy groups. At the event, the School of Management of Fudan University and ACCESS Health China jointly founded the Healthcare and Finance Research Institute and the School of Management of Fudan University officially became an active academic partner in our Health Futures Network.

Innovations in healthcare and finance bear unique significance in our time because they can make it possible to realize a world in which all people have access to high quality and affordable healthcare. Inspired by this vision, the summit focused on sharing successful models and discussing future opportunities from the perspective of pharmaceutical and medical device manufactures, healthcare service providers, commercial insurance companies, and financial technology service providers. The goal of the summit was to promote future collaborations for innovative services and products in the joint industry of healthcare and finance. Guest speakers shared their practical experiences and positive expectations of how innovations in healthcare and finance can reduce healthcare costs, optimize the allocation of medical resources, and leverage affordability of healthcare for the public.

Shanghai Services Federation hosted the summit. The School of Management of Fudan University was the academic partner. The four key organizers were the Professional Committee on Health Services of Shanghai Services Federation, the Professional Committee on New Financial Services of Shanghai Services Federation, ACCESS Health International China, and Shanghai Pujiang Health Industry Information Technology Promotion Center. Shanghai MediTrust Health Co., Ltd co organized the summit.
