Exploring India’s Health Reforms and the Journey Towards Universal Health Coverage

ACCESS Health India and partners hosted a learning visit in Tamil Nadu to learn more about local health sector reforms. The visit, organized in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Health Systems Transformation Platform, and the International Decision Support Initiative, was aimed at understanding key policy issues, priority health system challenges, the midterm reform agenda, and key triggers for health sector reforms in Tamil Nadu. The visit allowed participants to identify technical topics and practice areas that may be of interest to other states in India as they embark on their own reform initiatives.

ACCESS Health India went on to organize its own learning workshop for ACCESS Health India staff, students, and interns on the journey towards universal health coverage in India. It was first in the series of learning workshops led by ACCESS Health India Country Director Krishna Reddy.
