In September, the government of Uttar Pradesh launched a new state health insurance program that will provide secondary and tertiary healthcare coverage for more than fifty million people in the state living under the poverty line. ACCESS Health India is a technical partner of the state health agency in Uttar Pradesh that is responsible for the implementation of the insurance program. ACCESS Health was a proud partner of the government during the pilot stage of the health insurance program and is continuing to provide technical expertise as the program scales up across the state. Our work in the coming months will focus on advising the state health agency as it develops guidelines for empaneling health facilities and enhances its penetration and reach.
