ACCESS Health at the 2018 Forum for the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health

ACCESS Health was a proud participant in the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health 2018 Forum, held in December in New Delhi. The event focused on improving multisectoral action for results, sharing country solutions, and capturing and sharing best practices in the maternal, newborn, and child health sectors. Part of our involvement including offering technical support to our partners at the India office of the World Health Organization and Care India who organized a session on “Bridging the Quality Chasm: Ensuring Universal Access to Quality Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Services with Equity & Dignity (QED)”.
ACCESS Health also participated in a side event titled “Quality of Life-Saving Medicines: A New Investment Strategy” which highlighted the important role of quality medicine in maternal health. It also underscored the need for new strategies and funding sources for countries to increase the availability of quality lifesaving medicines given the decreasing aid assistance to developing countries.
Overall, the discussions held at the forum emphasized the importance of people centered accountability and of bringing forward the voices of women, children, and adolescents through innovative programs and creative projects. The Keynote address at the event was delivered by Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
